Shortly before 4am this morning, units from Station 1 and surrounding companies were alerted to Company 9’s first due for a dwelling fire in the area of Howard Rd & Romancoke Rd. The first arriving engine arrived to find a single family Split-Level home with fire throughout. Crews from Company 1 assisted with extinguishing the fire, overhaul, and water supply operations. Engine 12, Engine-Tanker 1, Tower 1 & Rescue 1 all operated on the scene for approximately 2.5 hours before returning to service. No civilian or fire department injuries were reported. The cause is the fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office. During this incident Engine 14 handled a working auto fire along Route 50.
