June 15, 2021

Just before 3 p.m. KIVFD along with units from Grasonville, Queenstown, United Communities, Queen Anne Hillsboro and QA Co. DES were alerted for a dwelling fire in the 200 block of Cross Creek Ct. KIVFD Engine 12 arrived to find a single family dwelling with smoke showing. An aggressive interior attack was initiated. Initial reports advised that there may be dogs still in the dwelling. Crews made a quick stop on the fire and performed a search of the dwelling. No one or dogs were home at the time of the fire. The Office of the State Fire Marshal was requested to conduct and origin and cause investigation. Investigators determined the fire to be accidental, starting in the dishwasher.
