Shortly before 8PM on 3/19 multiple stations were alerted for a building fire being reported at the Target at 200 Kent Landing. Initial information was that smoke was filling the building. Crews arrived to find a haze in the grocery area of the store. Investigation found a malfunctioning air handler and crews secured it. The store management and employee's had quickly evacuated the store prior to fire department arrival. There were no injuries and the damage was confined to the air handler. The situation was placed under control in approximately 20 minutes. Units from the following department's responded to this incident: Kent Island, Grasonville, United Communities, Queenstown, Goodwill (Centreville), Cape St. Claire, Queen Anne's Co. DES and the QACSO. Approximately 45 personnel responded.
