Volunteers from Kent Island and United Communities participated in a drill/live fire exercise at an acquired structure on Vestfield road yesterday. Members of both departments practiced search and rescue, ventilation, RIT, and other firefighting skills during what weather experts were predicting to be a dusting for our area, but resulting in a good five inches of snow. Captain Finck had overall command, Woody Colburn had safety, and Lieutenant Walters incident command when the structure was ignited.
