A two vehicle crash Tuesday evening on Rt. 50 at the base of the West Bound Span of the Bay Bridge sent one driver to the hospital. The accident occurred when an eastbound passenger car struck the rear of a car who had stopped to avoid hitting another car in front of them. The road was open for one lane of traffic while Firefighters/EMT’s provided care to the injured patient.
Chief Thomas had Command. Units responding were Rescue 1, Engine 14, Chief 1, and Paramedic 10 Responded with 16 volunteers.
Shortly after clearing the incident, units returned to service and when pulling into the station, Engine 14 and Ambulance 1 were alerted for a medical call in the 1-10.
